Initial reports say the free minute is already available on what looks like all versions of Hangouts for those in the supported countries and with available credit. Any overage time will be charged as per Google's usual voice calling rates. Google suggest the first minute could be used to "call that great-aunt you can only handle 55 seconds at a time," or to "call local restaurants, hotels, and attractions when traveling internationally." Now, users located in any of the 25 supported countries can get the first minute for free using Google's Hangouts for desktop or mobile devices. Google's all-in-one Hangouts app provides easy text/video chat as well as phone calls for free inside the US and Canada. The company now gives users in 25 different countries the first minute of international calls for free using the service. Google announced recently that it is expanding its call support for Hangouts.
